and/or copying, except for any blueprints.

Requesting Copies of Blueprints

Copies of blueprints can be requested from the department but these type of requests have special requirements.

To obtain copies of blueprints, this Department requires:

  • Written authorization from the property owner.
  • The licensed architect/engineer of record.
  • A copy of a current owner's grant deed.

Can’t find the records you are looking for in our online system? Additional records may be available through the LADBS Records Section or the City. Please note that the LADBS Records Section will only produce documents NOT available as a PDF through our Search Online Building Records system.

The following is a collection of helpful links for additional information related to searching for building records.

Visit the Permit and Inspection Report to look up Building and Safety-related information on a property such as: Permits and related inspections, and code enforcement and parcel profile attributes

A Residential Property Report provides a thorough examination of a particular property, including comprehensive property details, past history, an estimated value, and information on foreclosure activity.

The Zone Information and Map Access System (ZIMAS) is a web-based mapping tool that provides zoning information for properties located in Los Angeles.

The 9A Report is a disclosure document that must be provided by the seller as per the City of Los Angeles regulations for all real estate transactions.

Inspect or receive a copy of any record unless the record is exempted from disclosure from the LADBS Custodian of Records (subpoena)
